Integrative approach in teaching foreign languages: historical aspect

The article deals with the historical aspect of the integrative approach in teaching foreign languages. The difference between the concepts of «synthesis» and «integration» is explained, which it is an important aspect for a full understanding of the nature of the integrative approach. The advantages of the integrative approach in teaching foreign languages in comparison with classical methods are described. The need of modern society for a deeper study of this topic is revealed.
