Abstract:

The article describes the characteristics of the modern library, discusses topical issues, related to the prospects of library development, informatization of library processes, describes the main directions of libraries activity, library space, personal qualities of the librarian. The analyzed topic was studied by such specialists as Ya.A. Panov, I.A. Bogdanova, T.S. Gaydukova, N.V. Spesivtseva, G.A. Kuzichkina, A.M. Mazuritsky, D.F. Kunafina, G.N. Maganova.
