Abstract:

The article explores jazz music in general and jazz improvisation in particular as a manifestation of aesthetic dialectics. The unobvious beauty, the «imperfection» of jazz for hearing brought up on classical European harmony is analyzed through the prism of a fundamental aesthetic idea of form and formlessness. Also considered is the permanent Dionysian context of jazz associated with its folklore roots of a complex (Afro European) genesis. As a result it becomes obvious that the jazz «imperfection» of harmony, rhythm and melody is an integral aesthetic feature of jazz. And the openness of the artistic text of jazz supports the idea that the central point of focus in the analysis of jazz through the prism of the modern aesthetic system should be the dialogical proportionality of the beautiful.
