Abstract:

This article is devoted to the traditional songs of the villages Smolenskaya and Novodmitrievskaya Seversky district of the Krasnodar Territory, recorded during the Sixth Folklore-Ethnographic Expedition of the KGIK "Preservation of the Kuban Folk Culture" from members of folk singing groups. The ritual tunes and poetic texts relating to the rites of the Winter Christmas time, as well as some lyric songs, are most accurately preserved in the memory of modern performers. Samples of musical folklore are deciphered and described by the author of the article.
